de boer cUEFA have opened disciplinary procedures against the Eredivisie champions after a section of their fans caused trouble during Ajax’s 2-1 defeat to Celtic two weeks ago.

Ajax fans were shown throwing chairs, and other items into the home section, while others could be seen scuffling with stewards.

With Celtic now set to travel to the Amsterdam Arena on Wednesday, Frank de Boer hopes that their will be no further trouble.

He said in his press conference, “I am confident in that but you never know,”

“There is always some crazy people (who) try to disturb something but hopefully it will not happen. There have not been so many incidents like that over the last couple of years.”

“Of course, it was a bad thing they did in Glasgow and hopefully they will be punished for that but normally 99 per cent are good supporters.”

“There were moments when they made more noise than the Celtic fans did which was fantastic”.

Ajax need to beat Celtic to have any chance of keeping their Champions League campaign alive, but fans have been frustrated by a number of poor performances by their side over the past few weeks.
