The Scottish side confirmed on Friday that they had parted ways with head coach Mark Warburton and former Rangers player Frank de Boer’s name has been linked to the post.
De Boer has been out of work since being sacked by Inter Milan earlier this season and has told Sky Sports that he is enjoying his break from football. However, he also said he would listen to any offer made to him by Rangers.
He said, “Right now, I am just taking a break and looking more for next season,” de Boer told Sky Sports.
“Hopefully to start in pre-season and not start in the middle of the season.
“It is a long time [since] I have had a break. When I was 14, I started to play for Ajax and when I quit my career I started directly to be a coach, first as a youth and then a Head Coach.
“It is the first time in 32 years that I have really [had] a break for two or three months so I am really enjoying that.
“I would always listen, that is for sure.
“Every club where I have played, especially Rangers or Barcelona where I have very warm feelings for, you want to see the club that is stable and doing well.”
