Tottenham have reportedly made De Boer their number one target to replace Andre Villas-Boas, after the Portuguese coach was sacked earlier this week.
However speaking after tonight’s 3-0 KNVB Cup win over IJsselmeervogels, De Boer spoke of his honour at being linked with the Premier League side, but also stated his loyalty to Ajax.
He told De Telegraaf, “It means that I’m good at my job. For the rest I can not do much with, because I’m very happy here. I’m just getting started with Ajax. ”
Prior to the game, De Boer told Fox Sports, “I have not spoken with Spurs. If there is interest then i would be very honoured.”
“I’ve often said that if I’m enjoying myself at Ajax and if Ajax are with me, then I see no reason to leave. ”
De Boer signed a new four-year-deal in the summer, and is aiming to be the first coach to lead Ajax to four league titles in a row.
