Eriksen left Amsterdam for London, after five years with Ajax, in which he managed to win three back to back Eredivisie title’s, and gained the reputation of a future star.
Ajax boss Frank de Boer has now warned his ex star that he will face more temptations at Tottenham, which may see him lose his concentration on football.
De Boer said, “London is a great city. You get a lot of family and friends, but for an athlete there’s only one thing that matters. Performing”
“It’s very tempting to go to lunch with friends in the city, while you really should be preparing for the next game at your home.”
The 21 year old Danish international made his Spurs debut at the weekend, and earned a standing ovation from his new fans, after a great display in their 2-0 win over Norwich.
I think De Boer should worry more about his squad. Eriksen is OLD news. Ajax has become so depleted in the past 5 years its sickening. They did not want to pay for Maher and now look at them. PSV have a much brighter future with all the youth they have. Whats crazy is a team like Real Madrid spend 100 million euros for Bale and it literally inflates the market and causes an even greater divide in other leagues. Just look at who won on day one in the CL. All the clubs with more money.
Divide is getting greater especially if 5million euros is the most ajax will spend on a player young players normally come in cycles and eventually ajax will suffer a drop in standards
