De Graafschap’s bid for survival was boosted again on Saturday after a 0-0 draw with Willem II saw them climb off the bottom of the table.

The Superboeren looked certain for relegation before the winter break, but an up turn in form, coupled with Cambuur’s results has seen them edge closer to survival.
Willem II dominated the early stages of the game, but chances for Lucas Andersen, Guus Hupperts and Erik Falkenburg were all wasted. The biggest chance fell to Robbie Haemhouts, but the midfielder just couldn’t connect with Bartholomew Ogbeche’s through ball.
In the second half chances continued to fall for the home side, but Hidde Jurjus produced some fine saves to ensure De Graafschap a point.
De Graafschap move above Cambuur on goal difference, while Willem II remain 15th.
