ADO Den Haag must look over their shoulders towards the drop zone after being held to a 1-1 draw at De Graafschap.

After their 5-1 loss to Ajax last weekend, ADO Den Haag went looking for a victory in Doetinchem. The visitors were bright from the start and should have taken the lead when Sheraldo Becker found himself in on goal but his finish was wild.

Tomas Necid was then denied by Hidde Jurjus before Giovanni Troupee shot the rebound over with the goal gaping. ADO eventually took the lead after half-an-hour when Becker found himself through on goal again and this time he made no mistake with his finish.

Striker Charlison Benschop and Jurjus went off injured for De Graafschap, who looked impotent in their search for an equaliser.

Danny Bakker struck the bar for ADO Den Haag in the second half and in the 81st minute they were hit by a suckerpunch. The ball fell to Youssef El Jebli outside the box and he hammered a shot past Robert Zwinkels to earn De Graafschap a point.

ADO Den Haag are now 12th but only three points above the bottom three while De Graafschap remains 17th. They increase the gap to bottom side NAC Breda to four points.
