De Guzman told the Napoli official site, “I am happy to have come to Napoli. I can’t wait to start,”

After starting his career with Feyenood, De Guzman then moved to Mallorca, before joining Villarreal in 2011, but after his new side suffered relegation in his first season at the club, the Dutch international moved to Wales with Swansea, on loan.

In two years in the Premier League, De Guzman netted nine goals in 71 appearances, while he was part of Netherlands squad for this Summers World Cup, and played in the opening 5-1 win over Spain.
