Barcelona have qualified for the last eight of the Champions League after a 3-1 win over Napoli on Saturday evening.

With the tie sitting at 1-1 from the first-leg, Barcelona hosted Napoli with Frenkie de Jong in the starting line-up and Ludovit Reis on the bench.

Dries Mertens gave Barcelona a scare early on with a strike against the post but in the 10th minute it was 1-0 for the hosts. Clement Lenglet headed in a corner.

In the 23rd minute, Lionel Messi made it 2-0 after a fine solo run. Then De Jong found Messi with an exceptional outside of the boot pass, and although the Argentinian found the net, VAR ruled the goal out for handball.

Messi was brought down in the 45th minute to earn a penalty which was scored by Luis Suarez. Napoli then pulled one back before the break as they earned a penalty which was netted by Lorenzo Insigne.

In the second half, De Jong was excellent for Barcelona as no further goals were scored.

Barcelona advances to the next round and will meet Bayern Munich, who saw off Chelsea in the other match on Saturday. Joshua Zirkzee was not among the substitutes for the German side, while Ian Maatsen was an unused substitute.
