Frenkie de Jong feels the transfer to Barcelona may have been playing on his mind since the winter break.

The midfielder sealed his €86 million summer move to Barcelona in January which has led to increased pressure on the Ajax star since the winter break.

De Jong admitted his performance were not great after the winter break but feels he has regained his form during the loss to Real Madrid and 5-0 victory over NAC Breda.

He told NOS, “The first matches after the winter break were less open-minded, somewhat less free. I’m sure I do not know … Maybe it’s (Barcelona move) playing in your head.

“I was just a little less free in my game, the last two matches was a little better, now I have to make sure that I can only get better.”
