After dumping out Real Madrid, Ajax will face Serie A giants Juventus for a place in the Champions League semi-finals.
Speaking to Voetbal International, Frenkie de Jong said on the draw, “Juventus is one of the stronger opponents, I think. I have seen the match against Atlético Madrid, then they played very well. They played very offensive and of course have many qualities. Juventus will be a favourite, but so was Real Madrid. I think we have a chance.
“Juventus will not be dissatisfied with the draw, but if they have watched us in the Champions League, they will not underestimate us,”
De Jong is excited about the prospect of facing Juventus star-man Cristiano Ronaldo, “He was already one of the best football players in the world when I was young and of course he still is. His figures are unprecedented, you hardly ever see that. “
