Frenkie de Jong is unsure what the future holds and is not ruling out a longer stay at Ajax past the summer.

The 21-year-old is wanted by Europe’s biggest clubs including Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Manchester City after some outstanding performances for Netherlands and Ajax.

However, speaking to The Guardian, De Jong said he is keeping all options open, “It’s difficult to say what will happen.

“I want to finish this season well with Ajax. Then we will see. Maybe I’ll stay for another year, maybe I’ll leave. But I am not sure.”

Asked about the links to Barcelona and Man City, De Jong responded, “I don’t pay attention to it. I hear the stories but I just want to finish this season well.”
