Barcelona ended a bad week with a much-needed 3-2 win over Real Betis. Frenkie de Jong scored in the victory.

Barcelona were knocked out of the Copa del Rey in midweek by Athletic Bilbao and to make matters worse, a war of words broke out between Lionel Messi and director Eric Abidal.

On Sunday, Barcelona got off to a poor start with Sergio Canales netting from the penalty spot after a handball by Clément Lenglet.

However, Frenkie de Jong drew Barcelona level in the ninth minute, making a very clever run to latch onto a Messi ball over the top before slotting past the Betis keeper.

Nabil Fekir restored the Betis lead but just before the break, Sergio Busquets equalised from a Messi free-kick.

In the second half, Barcelona dominated and eventually, Lenglet headed them in front. Both sides then ended the game with ten men as Fekir and Lenglet both saw red cards for second yellows.

The victory eases some of the pressure around Barcelona and they remain three points off Real Madrid in second.
