The defender has been criticised for his performances at Juventus so far this season and was also not at his best during the international period for Netherlands.
Speaking after the 2-1 win over Belarus on Sunday, De Ligt acknowledged his form has dipped.
He told NOS, “I also know that I am perhaps a little less confident than last year.
“A football player always has ups and downs … You can’t always go up. Last year I had a fantastic season and right now I have some things that go differently. Very normal for a young player. I don’t worry there The good matches will come naturally. “
De Ligt also acknowledged that he has so far not lost a game with Juventus or Netherlands this season despite his form, “Yes, I haven’t lost this season so far, so I can be happy with that.”
