According to Tuttosport, Juventus are no longer in the running to sign Matthijs de Ligt after they were put off by the Ajax defender’s asking price.

The 19-year-old has been constantly linked with the top European clubs for months with Juventus one of those said to be circling the Dutch international.

However, Tuttosport is reporting that Juventus have been put off by Ajax’s asking price of €60 million and have pulled out of the race. They believe they can not compete with the likes of Ajax or Manchester City.

Ajax director Marc Overmars stated this week that they would not allow anyone to leave during the winter, so any interested parties will have to wait until the summer to make their move for De Ligt.
