At just 17 years and 285 days old Matthijs De Ligt could be the youngest footballer ever to play in a European club final.
Ahead of the game, De Ligt said,”I like to speak to the press ahead of matches. I learnt at school how you must address people.
”I made my Jupiler League debut last August for Jong Ajax v FC Emmen. You see how quickly things can develop. Ajax have a lot of players knocking on the door of the first team”.
”It’s a 50 / 50 game where Manchester United are perhaps slight favorites but if we play our game we have a chance of winning. As a defender a 1-0 win would be nice.
