Matthijs de Ligt has once again reiterated that he does not know where his future lies at the moment amid interest from Manchester United and Barcelona.

The 19-year-old is surrounded by constant rumours over his future with Manchester United, Barcelona, Juventus and Bayern Munich all said to be in the race to sign him.

Over the weekend, Manchester United went from favourites to out of the race, with Barcelona once again the front runners.

Speaking to NOS, De Ligt was asked if he had seen all the rumours over the weekend, “Of course a lot is being written. I think it has been like that all year long and I am not being fooled by it. I am not so worried that so many have been written. Frenkie de Jong already knows that he is going to a new club. Not me yet. That’s it.”

De Ligt was then asked whether he has a dream club, “It is not one club that is interested, no. Whether I have a dream club? No, I don’t really have a dream club outside of Ajax. It was always my dream to play at Ajax. I succeeded and I’m happy about that.”

About what he is looking for at a new club, he responded, “I look at what I think is the best for my career, where I can develop the best, where I can make the most playing minutes … On that I base my choice.”
