Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt has admitted that a move to Juventus is a possibility.

Juventus are one of the clubs said to be interested in signing the Ajax captain this summer, along with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and PSG.

Ajax will come head to head with Juventus in the Champions League and speaking to Tuttosport, De Ligt said on the clash with the Old Lady, “We can keep going in Europe because we are a young team and we have quality players. There will be more pressure on Juventus than there will be on us.”

Asked about Cristiano Ronaldo possibly missing the game through injury, De Ligt said, “Ronaldo a doubt for the game? He is one of the best players in the world, there’s no doubt that Juventus are stronger when he is on the pitch. However, playing against world-class players like him is always challenging.”

De Ligt was also asked whether he could be a future teammate of Juventus defenders Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci, “I like Chiellini, he is one of the best at defending, he is really great. I also like Bonucci. Playing with them at Juventus? It could happen, they are two among the best centre-backs in Europe. But there are also other clubs pursuing me, we will see about that at the right time, now I’m only focused on Ajax.”
