According to Sky Italia, Marten de Roon can leave Middlesbrough to return to Serie A side Atalanta.

The midfielder left Bergamo for Middlesbrough last summer, but their relegation from the Premier League has left De Roon’s future up in the air.
Lazio have been linked with the Dutchman, but Sky Italia is reporting that De Roon could be set to rejoin Atalanta in a €14 million deal.
Middlesbrough paid €15 million to bring De Roon to England last year, with the former Heerenveen star scoring five times in 35 appearances. Atalanta finished 5th in Serie A last season and see De Roon as a perfect recruit as they prepare for a Europa League campaign.
