Marten de Roon is set for a move to the Premier League after Atalanta accepted a £12 million bid from Middlesbrough for the midfielder.

De Roon only moved to Italy last summer after leaving Heerenveen, but he made a big impression in his debut Serie A season with his tenacious style of play. The midfielder was voted Atalanta’s player of the season and attracted interest from several other Italian clubs including Napoli, but it seems Middlesbrough have swooped first.
The newly promoted Premier League side have had a £12 million bid accepted by Atalanta and the 25-year-old is due in England to undergo a medical and sign a contract with the Teeside club.
De Roon made 36 appearances for Atalanta last season.
