The 26-year-old Belgian has been linked with the Eindhoven club for the past few weeks as they search for someone to cover Stijn Schaars, who will miss the next few months of action.
Speaking to O Jogo in Portugal, Defour’s agent claimed a deal had already been agreed between the player and PSV, but they are still waiting for the go ahead from Porto.
He Said, “We have an agreement in principal with PSV, it also depends on Porto.”
“We are waiting for clarification from the leadership of Porto what is going to happen. But it is now envisaged that Defour will start training on Monday at Porto.”
A former Genk and Standard Liege player, Defour has made 65 league appearances for Porto, whilst earning 44 caps for the Belgian national team.
PSV have only made one signing this summer, Luuk de Jong, and time is running out for coach Phillip Cocu to get his new signings in before the season starts. The coach is looking for a new midfielder, whilst he also needs a centre back to replace Karim Rekik, and Zanka.
