Go Ahead Eagles have begun their search for a new manager after sacking Dennis Demmers.

demmersThe Club from Deventer lost away 1-0 away at Achilles 29 on Sunday and that was the final straw for the hierarchy at the club after a string of inconsistent results including two wins in seven games. Dennis Demmers took over from Foeke Booy in March 2014, having been his assistant.

Go Ahead Eagles stuck by Demmers even though they suffered relegation to the Jupiler League last season, and the club started the season relatively strongly and currently sit 5th in the Jupiler League with 34 points from 21 games. However they are 15 points behind current league leaders Sparta Rotterdam.

Current assistant manager Harry Decheiver will take over the reigns in cooperation with Michel Boerebach. It has been well documented that Go Ahead have tried to secure the services of former Cambuur & Heerenveen manger Dwight Lodeweges as technical manger. He may well be added to the manger shortlist in Deventer.
