Memphis Depay has tipped his Lyon teammate Kenny Tete to earn a Netherlands recall if he can get regular playing time.

Tete has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the Lyon side this season but was named in the L’Equipe team of the week after his performance against Nimes at the weekend.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of Lyon’s Champions League clash with RB Liepzig, Memphis Depay tipped his teammate to earn an Oranje recall.
He said on Tete, “He feels good and strong. Kenny is someone who always works hard at the training and has a lot of potential and quality. He is one of the most difficult right backs to pass.
“It has not always been easy for him, but we know that he is always ready when it is needed. He can now show that he is good and he must do what he can and what we expect from him. Kenny is a good boy and when he plays we also know that he will be joining the national team again.”
Let’s hope he’s right and Tete starts playing regularly at RB. The Dutch really need a better option than what they have at the moment. When he was fit and playing regularly a couple years ago, Tete was certainly stronger defensively than any of the current RB options Koeman has been using.
I agree with BC3 on this one! I personally like the Tete-Hateboer paradigm. Need more going forward? Bring in Hateboer. Other than that, use Tete. I also like Karsdorp, but he is still yet to find form and being at Feyenoord at the moment isn’t helping. The shambles of RB position has also helped us forget the other side of the pitch and that we don’t really have a all round LB. Blind is a solid guy, great positional play, not a lot going forward. PVA great going forward. Willems has done great at Newcastle and should get the nod, and I know a lot of people like Wijndal, but the lad just isn’t ready yet.
