depay eyeAccording to Omroep Brabant the 20-year old forward has recovered from an injury that initially looked to have left him out of action for a couple of weeks. During last week’s crunch match against Vitesse after Depay had scored a vital winner, the Boeren got on the end of Renato Ibarra’s powerful elbow which severely damaged the Dutchman’s eye socket. Later in the game Depay was subbed off and eventually taken to hospital.

Fortunately for Depay and PSV the scans showed that the eye socket was not broken, just badly bruised. After his visit to the hospital Depay was positive.

“It looks bad, but I’m okay. Luckily I could still see the final result,” he tweeted.

This will be a big relief for the Eindhoven side as they look to continue their impressive seven game unbeaten streak this weekend against Roda JC. Although Roda are placed bottom of the table this PSV side have already played them on two occasions, in the league and the cup, losing 2-1 on both attempts. But with their top goal scorer in the line-up Cocu’s men should be more than likely to bring home the 3 points that will edge them closer to that elusive champions league spot.
