Sergino Dest has stated there was nothing more Ronald Koeman could have done to persuade him to choose the Netherlands over the USA.

The 18-year-old right back finally ended speculation over his international future this week as he chose to remain with the US National team.
Speaking to NOS, the Ajax youngster stated that there was nothing more that the KNVB or Ronald Koeman could have done.
He said, “Whether he (Koeman) could have done anything else? No …
“It’s really nobody’s fault. No trainer can blame you. The decision is entirely up to me, it’s my choice. So it’s my fault.”
Dest is happy to hear that Netherlands fans are disappointed with his choice, “It is nice to hear of course, because it gives me more motivation to do my best and reach the top. If I succeed and if that is my potential. I am happy with that.”
