Advocaat names his final squad for the final two World Cup qualifiers, which included Ryan Babel and Jurgen Locadia, but was missing a number of big names such as Quincy Promes, Wesley Sneijder and Stefan de Vrij.

At his press conference, Advocaat said, “Promes, De Vrij and Martins Indi are all injured. I spoke with Wesley Sneijder and explained to him the reasons why he has not been selected in the squad. That being that he is not featuring regularly for his club OGC Nice.

“I have a good feeling about both upcoming matches and we are playing against opponents that we can and must beat. We must win our final two matches.

“We can no longer aussume that we will beat Belarus away 4 or 5-0. I also expect Luxembourg to play as defensive as that did in their away game against France. I do not expect a heavy scoreline between Sweden and Luxembourg.”

Dick Advocaat also elaborated on the fine form of striker Vincent Janssen since his move to Fenerbahce, “I am delighted for Vincent Janssen. I believe that he is a fantastic striker and I am pleased with his recent fine form.”
