Karadic stated that Advocaat would be given a contract until the end of Euro 2016, with the possibility of renewal should Serbia qualify.

Advocaat is succeeding Sinisa Mihajlovic as Serbia manager following the latter’s move to Italian side UC Sampdoria following failure to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The 66 year old has previously managed the likes of the Netherlands, Belgium, PSV Eindhoven, and Zenit, with his most recent coaching spell coming at Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.
