Mark Diemers scored a hat trick as Fortuna Sittard defeated VVV Venlo 4-1 in Limburg.

VVV headed into the game on the back of a four-game losing streak and after only nine minutes they found themselves behind again. Mark Diemers found the net with an excellent free-kick.

After 26 minutes, it was 2-0 as Diemers found the top corner with an excellent strike from outside the box. Five minutes into the second half, Amadou Ciss made it 3-0 with a powerful finish.

Diemers then had a goal disallowed for a foul in the build-up before Johnatan Opoku pulled one back for VVV with a header.

In the 87th minute, Tobias Pachonik fouled Ciss in the box which led to a penalty. Diemers made no mistake from the spot to seal his hat trick and the victory.

Fortuna Sittard now rise above VVV and into 16th place.
