Javairo Dilrosun provided a goal and assist as Netherlands U21’s defeated Latvia 3-0 in a European Championship qualifier. 

Netherlands went into the game knowing they had no chance of reaching next summer’s Euro’s but Erwin van de Looi want’s to end the qualifiers in a positive way. Indy Groothuizen and Sherel Floranus made their U21 debut’s while Justin Kluivert and Javairo Dilrosun started on the wings.

Richairo Zvkovic made a lively start up front with a strike hitting the bar before the striker rolled a shot just wide of the post. Bart Ramselaar was also denied by the woodwork before Rick van Drongelen and Teun Koopmeiners went close in a goalless first half.

Two minutes into the second half, Netherlands finally took the lead when Dilrosun raced down the wing before his cross was tapped into the net by Kluivert.

Oranje missed chance after chance before substitute Donyell Malen’s corner was flapped into his own net by the Latvian goalkeeper Kristaps Zommers to make it 2-0. In injury time, Dilrosun added a third with a calm finish after bursting into the box.
