Dolberg told Bold, ”I was surprised. There were rumours that maybe some players would leave but I did not expect the manager to leave.

”Now we face a new start and the new manager of Ajax will be aware of how well we did last season but I will have to prove myself again.

‘ It will be a new beginning and we must try to build up something good. I hope that we can build on we what achieved last season.

”I would have liked Bosz to stay. He gave me my chance at Ajax. He believed in my also in periods where I was not playing so well. He always had confidence in me and that remains one of the most important things that a manager can give to a player.

”Bosz was of course very important during my first season as a professional footballer. I have no plans to move to Borussia Dortmund.”
