PSV Eindhoven remain ahead of Ajax at the top of the table after they came from behind to beat bottom side Dordrecht 3-1 on Saturday evening.

psvdor31Dodrecht had lost their last five Eredivisie matches without scoring a single goal heading into the tie against PSV, but they took a shock lead after five minutes when Mart Lieder prodded in a rebound.

PSV pushed for an equaliser which they eventually found after 21 minutes as Jetro Willems ball over the top of Dordrecht’s defence was sent excellently into the net by Georginio Wijnaldum’s looping header.

On 35 minutes PSV were awarded a penalty after Ojo was deemed to handle in the box, and it gave Memphis Depay the opportunity to net on his 100th official appearance for the club. However the winger smashed his spot kick off the crossbar.

Dordrecht goalkeeper Filip Kuro then pulled off a stunning double save to deny Luuk de Jong on 44 minutes, but from the resulting corner the striker sent a powerful header into the top corner to give the league leaders a half time lead.

Wijnaldum made the points save for the Eindhoven side just before the hour mark as he fired in after a corner was not cleared, and the home side were then reduced to ten men as Haddad was shown his second yellow for a handball.

PSV could have added further goals, but the win was comfortable in the end and they remain one point ahead of Ajax with a game in hand, while Dordrecht sit bottom.
