All seemed to be going well at Fortuna Sittard, who appointed Oliseh as their new coach last summer. The club, who have flirted with relegation and liquidation over the last few years, are instead fighting for promotion this season. They currently sit third and have already booked their place in the end of season play-offs.

However, a few weeks ago rumours came out claiming Oliseh had been sacked. These reports turned out to be untrue but on Wednesday, Fortuna Sittard confirmed that Oliseh had been suspended.

The coach then took to Twitter to condemn the club, claiming that they wanted him to take part in “Illegal activities.”

Oliseh also spoke to Voetbal International and confirmed that he is speaking to lawyers at the moment and couldn’t go into details about the illegal activities he was asked to due.

He told VI when asked if he was angry, “Maybe both a bit. But perhaps also relieved. I did not want to continue at Fortuna Sittard. I do not want to be part of illegal practices. I can not give details because the case is with lawyers. Sorry about that, I hope everyone respects that I can not go into it now. What I can say is that at my age and with my career I do not want to run the risk of getting involved in things that are bad. I have never been involved in illegal practices throughout my life, and I do not do that now. That’s what I want. “
