The midfielder had no future in Amsterdam and decided to terminate his deal with Ajax last week. The 26-year-old has now signed a three-year deal to re-join Heracles Almelo.
Duarte originally joined Heracles from Sparta Rotterdam back in 2011 before going on to make 66 Eredivisie appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals. In 2013, Duarte decided to leave for Ajax, but has since only featured 13 times in the league and spent time on loan with Heerenveen and NAC Breda.
Duarte told the official Heracles website, “At the moment it is most important to me that I’m going to play football again. I want me to prove myself again and return back to my old level. ”
