Atalanta returned to Serie A action with a simple 4-1 victory over Sassuolo with Marten de Roon and Hans Hateboer involved.

Both Hateboer and De Roon started for Atalanta, while Robin Gosens was also in the starting line-up.

The hosts dominated from the start and they raced into a 3-0 lead by half-time thanks to goals from Berat Djimsiti, Duvan Zapata and a Mehdi Bourabia own goal. Gosens also had a goal ruled out.

Zapata added his second in the second half before Bourabia scored in the right goal to make it 4-1 at the end. Both Hateboer and De Roon played the full ninety minutes.

Atalanta consolidate their place in fourth and look likely to seal a Champions League spot this season.
