The 16-year-old came on as an early substitute in the Reds 2-1 defeat to Wolves to make his professional debut.

After the game, the youngster was praised by Jurgen Klopp, “He came on and did well. That’s how it sometimes starts – when you are really needed then it is only about if you are good enough and not how old you are.”

Highly rated within Liverpool circles, he has spent his short time at the club thus far between the under 18s and the under 23s. His assured appearances with the latter in the Premier League 2 earned him high praise, with the under 23 manager saying: “I don’t want to get too carried away with him…but his authority and assurance on the pitch for a boy so young was very, very impressive.”

The Netherlands under 17 international joined the club in September of last year from Ajax following international clearance, having previously come through the AZ Alkmaar academy.
