He may only be 16, but young Dutch defender Ki-Jana Hoever is already training with the Liverpool first-team.

Hoever made the move to Liverpool in the summer from the Ajax academy and has already progressed from the club’s U18 side to make his U23 debut.

Liverpool’s first-team currently has an injury crisis in their defence and head coach Jurgen Klopp has called Hoever into first-team training to take a closer look at the 16-year-old, who can play in several positions across the back-line.

Hoever may not make his first-team debut any time soon but his inclusion in training is a clear indication that Liverpool have been impressed by his performances.

With Virgil van Dijk already starring at Anfield it may not be long before another Dutchman makes a name for himself at the Premier League leaders.
