18-year-old Dutch full-back Jeremie Frimpong was sent off but Celtic still defeated Rangers 1-0 in the final of the Scottish League cup.

The young Dutchman joined Celtic from Manchester City’s academy in the summer and he has broken into the club’s first-team.

On Sunday, Frimpong started in the final of the Betfred Cup against Celtic’s bitter rivals Rangers. However, after 63 minutes, with his side winning 1-0, he was shown a straight red card for a last man challenge in the box.

However, Alfredo Morelos saw his penalty kick saved by Celtic keeper Fraser Forster. Celtic would hold onto their lead to lift their first trophy of the campaign.
