Young Dutch defender Xavier Mbuyamba was given a chance to train with the Barcelona first-team for the first time on Wednesday.

New Barcelona boss Quique Setién promised to give youth a chance when he was named as the successor to Ernesto Valverde.

He proved that by calling up a number of youngsters to train with the first-team on Wednesday, including Xavier Mbuyamba.

The 18-year-old centre-back made the move to Barcelona from MVV this summer and has so far made appearances for the club’s U19 side. He will be hoping to impress Setien enough to make his first-team debut at some point in the campaign.
