A round-up of how all the Dutchmen playing in Europe’s biggest league’s performed over the weekend.

Sunday saw Dick Advocaat’s Fenerbahce host bitter rivals Galatasaray, coached by Jan Olde Riekerink. The game was settled by Robin van Persie, who scored both goals in a 2-0 win. The striker’s first was an excellent finish into the top corner before he netted a penalty in the second half. Wesley Sneijder and Nigel de jong both started for Galatasaray, but the former was substituted after a poor performance.

Adam Maher appeared from the bench with seven minutes left of Osmanlispor’s 2-0 win over Alanyaspor.

English Premier League

Vincent Janssen’s difficult start to his Tottenham career continued on Saturday evening. The striker started the tie with West Ham and played a part as his side made it 1-1 early in the second half with his strike parried into the path of Harry Winks, who netted. However, Janssen then conceded a penalty and was immediately substituted. Luckily for the Dutchman his side came from behind to win 3-2.

Nathan Ake made his first start for Bournemouth on Saturday and the full back made himself an instant hero by netting the only goal in their win over Stoke City. Bruno Martins Indi and Erik Pieters both played the full game for Stoke.

Patrick van Aanholt made an assist in Sunderland’s 3-0 win over Hull City which moved the club off the bottom of the Premier League. The left back set up Victor Anichebe just after the hour mark.

Ronald Koeman’s Everton netted an 89th-minute equaliser to earn a 1-1 draw with Swansea City. Maarten Stekelenburg and Leroy Fer both played the full game, while Mike van der Hoorn was an unused substitute.

Virgil van Dijk put in another commanding performance on Saturday as Southampton held Liverpool to a 0-0 draw. Georginio Wijnaldum played the full game for Liverpool, while Jordy Clasie was an unused substitute.

Manchester United drew 1-1 with Arsenal on Saturday with Daley Blind appearing from the bench in the second half. Memphis Depay didn’t feature though as he stayed on the bench.

Marten de Roon was solid in Middlesbrough’s midfield on Sunday but he couldn’t prevent his side from going down 1-0 to league leaders Chelsea.

English Championship

Jaap Stam’s Reading climbed up to 3rd after a comfortable 3-0 win over Burton Albion. Roy Beerens played 86 minutes of the victory.

Vurnon Anita played the full game an added an assist in Newcastle United’s 2-0 win over Leeds United on Sunday.

Yanick Wildschut started up front for Wigan in their tie with Barnsley but couldn’t make much of an impact and was substituted with 12 minutes left of the 0-0 draw.

Maikel Kieftenbeld put in a commanding midfield performance as Birmingham City beat Bristol City 1-0 on Saturday.

Tjarron Chery claimed an assist as QPR claimed a 2-1 win over Norwich City. However the midfielder also missed a penalty in the fourth minute.

Glen Loovens played the full game at right-back as Sheffield Wednesday earned a 1-1 draw at Fulham.

Rajiv van la Parra remained on the bench as Huddersfield Town lost 3-2 at Cardiff City.

Spanish La Liga

Ryan Babel put in a man of the match performance for Deportivo la Coruna on Saturday with a goal and an assist but couldn’t prevent them from being defeated 3-2 by Sevilla.

Ryan Donk put in an impressive midfield performance for Real Betis in their 2-0 win over Las Palmas, with the Dutchman making three interceptions and three tackles in front of his defence.

Jasper Cillessen was an unused substitute for Barcelona in their 0-0 draw with Malaga.

Italian Serie A

Jonathan de Guzman was named in the Chievo starting line-up for their 1-0 win over Cagliari but was substituted on 73 minutes after failing to have much impact on the game.

Kevin Strootman didn’t have his finest game on Sunday as Roma were defeated 2-1 at Atalanta. The midfielder played the full game but couldn’t make any impact.

Wesley Hoedt and Ricardo Kishna were both unused substitutes in Lazio’s 3-1 win over Genoa.

German Bundesliga

Jeffrey Bruma’s Wolfsburg conceded in the 82nd minute to lose 1-0 at home to Schalke. Bruma made 7 clearances and 4 interceptions during the match but couldn’t keep a clean sheet.

Paul Verhaegh kept a clean sheet in the Augsburg defence as they held Hertha Berlin to a 0-0 draw.

French Ligue 1

Karim Rekik was back in the Marseille starting line-up at left-back and played the full game as his side edged out Caen 1-0 on Sunday.

Portuguese Cup

Both Douglas and Luc Castaignos started for Sporting Lisbon as they hammered Praiense 5-1 on Thursday. Castaignos couldn’t find the net, though and was substituted with twelve minutes left.

Russian Premier League

Quincy Promes played the full game as Spartak Moscow beat Amkar 1-0. The winger didn’t get himself on the scoresheet but was a constant threat on the right.
