A round-up of how all the Dutchmen playing in Europe’s biggest league’s fared over the weekend including goals from Patrick van Aanholt and Ryan Babel.

Ryan Babel appeared from the bench to score an excellent 90th-minute winner for Deportivo la Coruna, who overcame Sporting Gijon 2-1. The winger arrowed a low strike into the bottom corner from outside the box for his first goal of the season.
Ryan Donk was an unused substitute for Real Betis as they went down 1-0 at Real Sociedad.
Jasper Cillessen was on the bench for Barcelona in their surprise 4-3 defeat away to Celta Vigo.
English Premier League
Ronald Koeman’s Everton were in action on Friday night as they drew 1-1 at home with Crystal Palace. Maarten Stekelenburg was in goal for Everton but could do nothing to prevent an excellent header from Christian Benteke which earned Palace a point.
Patrick van Aanholt was the hero for Sunderland as he came off the bench to earn Sunderland a 1-1 draw against West Brom. The left back was pushed forward when he came on and his deflected shot found the net.
Leroy Fer tapped in his fourth goal of the season from close range to give Swansea City a 1-0 lead over Liverpool in Saturday’s early game with Mike van der Hoorn providing the assist, but they couldn’t hold onto their lead with Georginio Wijnaldum’s side coming back to win 2-1. Both Wijnaldum and Fer were substituted before the end.
Nathan Ake was an unused substitute for Bournemouth in their 2-2 draw against Watford, who are still missing Daryl Janmaat through injury.
Marten de Roon had a very tidy game in the midfield for Middlesbrough, who earned a 1-1 draw at West Ham. The midfielder completed 91.4% of his passes throughout the match.
Virgil van Dijk was once again in fine form for Southampton as they held Leicester City to a 0-0 draw. The defender made more clearances than any of his teammates as they held out for a point. Jordy Clasie was an unused substitute.
Manchester United were held to a surprise 1-1 draw at home to Stoke City. Daley Blind, Bruno Martins Indi and Erik Pieters all started the game while Memphis Depay came off the bench with nine minutes left.
Vincent Janssen was dropped to the bench for Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Manchester City and only appeared one minute before the end. Michel Vorm was an unused substitute.
English Championship
Vurnon Anita was back in the Newcastle United line-up as they ground out a 1-0 win over Rotherham thanks to a goal from former Vitesse loanee Christian Atsu.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been in the headlines recently for the wrong reasons, but his QPR side gave him something to smile about on Saturday with a 2-1 win over Fulham. His side rode their luck with Fulham missing two penalties, but with three minutes left Tjarron Chery provided the assist for Sylla to score the winner.
Marvin Emnes couldn’t continue his good goalscoring form on Saturday as Blackburn fell to a 1-0 defeat at Birmingham City, who were without Maikel Kieftenbeld.
Yanick Wildschut came off the bench on the hour mark of Wigan’s 0-0 draw at Brentford but couldn’t help his side break the deadlock.
Lex Immers was once again in Cardiff City’s starting line-up for their tie with Burton Albion but he couldn’t make an impact and was withdrawn before the hour mark as his side was defeated 2-0.
Huddersfield Town remain at the top of the Championship with a 1-0 win over Ipswich Town. Rajiv van la Parra came on at half time for the Terriers.
Jaap Stam’s Reading netted a 90th minute equaliser to earn a point against Derby County. Roy Beerens played the full ninety minutes for Reading in the 1-1 draw.
Glenn Loovens was in the heart of defence for Sheffield Wednesday in their 2-1 defeat against Brighton, but Urby Emanuelson was once again not involved for the Owls.
German Bundesliga
Arjen Robben was back in the Bayern Munich starting line-up for their tie against Cologne but only lasted 45 minutes before being replaced with rib issues. His side were held to a surprise 1-1 draw which ended their perfect start to the campaign. It remains to be seen if the rib problem will prevent him from joining up with the Dutch national team.
Jeffrey Gouweleeuw and Paul Verhaegh couldn’t stop Augsburg from going down 2-1 at Red Bull Leipzig.
Jeffrey Bruma kept a clean sheet for Wolfsburg but they were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Mainz.
Without an ill Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Schalke recorded their first win of the season, beating Borussia Monchengladbach 4-0.
Italian Serie A
Wesley Hoedt and Stefan de Vrij started in the heart of the defence for Lazio on Saturday evening and they kept a clean sheet in a 3-0 win over Udinese. De Vrij was excellent at the back with six clearances in the match, while Hoedt made four as the Dutchmen formed a formidable partnership. Ricardo Kishna was an unused substitute.
Frank de Boer’s Inter Milan suffered a 2-1 defeat to Roma on Sunday evening. Kevin Strootman played the full game for Roma, making three interceptions throughout the game and ending on a pass accuracy of 88.2% the second highest in his side.
Jonathan de Guzman was an unused substitute for Chievo in their 2-0 win over Pescara.
Timo Letschert started his first Serie A match for Sassuolo but won’t look back at the match fondly with AC Milan coming back from 3-1 down to record a 4-3 victory.
Kevin Diks was an unused substitute for Fiorentina in their 2-1 defeat at Torino.
Ouasim Bouy came off the bench with a minute left of Palermo’s 1-1 draw with Sampdoria.
Turkish Super Lig
Galatasaray recovered from a goal down to beat Antalyaspor 3-1. Wesley Sneijder was subbed at half time with an injury while Nigel de Jong wasn’t involved.
Robin van Persie came off the bench to earn Dick Advocaat’s Fenerbahce a 1-1 draw at Osmanlispor with a close range header. Adam Maher was a late sub for Osmanlispor, while Jeremain Lens and Gregory van der Wiel didn’t feature for Fenerbahce.
Russian Premier League
Lorenzo Ebecilio was an unused substitute as Anzhi were defeated 2-1 against Krylya Sovetov Samara.
Quincy Promes couldn’t make an impact as Spartak Moscow were defeated 4-2 at Zenit st Petersburg.
French Ligue 1
Karim Rekik was an unused substitute as Marseille conceded late on to draw 1-1 at Angers.
Portuguese Primiera Liga
Bas Dost and Marvin Zeegelar started for Sporting Lisbon on Saturday night but neither had a game to remember as their side threw away a 3-0 lead in a 3-3 draw at Vitoria Guimaraes. Luc Castaignos was once again not involved.
Swiss Super League
Jean-Paul Boetius was back in the Basel squad for their tie with Thun but failed to make it off the bench as his side were held to a 1-1 draw.
Belgian Jupiler League
Ricardo van Rhijn scored an excellent free kick from distance as Club Brugge beat Gent 1-0 on Sunday. Stefano Denswil and Ruud Vormer also featured for Brugge in the victory.
