A round-up of how all the Dutchmen playing in Europe’s biggest leagues fared over the weekend.

Arjen Robben scored a lovely goal to put Bayern Munich on their way to a 5-0 win over a Wolfsburg side that featured Jeffrey Bruma in the centre of defence.

Paul Verhaegh played the full ninety minutes of Augsburg’s 1-0 defeat to Hamburg.

Italian Seria A

Stefan de Vrij made his Lazio comeback in their 2-1 win over Sampdoria on Saturday evening. The centre-back played the full game, while Wesley Hoedt and Ricardo Kishna were unused subs.

After he had his two-match suspension overturned, Kevin Strootman lined up for Roma in their match with AC Milan on Monday. The midfielder played the full game as his side came out on top 1-0.

Jonathan De Guzman played the full game as Chievo earned a 2-0 win over Palermo.

English Premier League

Ronald Koeman’s Everton crisis continued on Saturday as they were defeated 3-2 at Watford. Maarten Stekelenburg once again had a poor game in goal for the Toffee’s, while Daryl Janmaat came off the bench late on for Watford.

Leroy Fer and Mike van der Hoorn spent the full game on the bench as Swansea City recorded a much-needed 3-0 win over Sunderland, who had Patrick van Aanholt in their side.

Both Erik Pieters and Bruno Martins Indi couldn’t prevent Arsenal from recording a 3-1 win over Stoke City on Saturday.

Nathan Ake was once again impressive in Bournemouth’s defence but couldn’t prevent his side from losing 3-2 at Burnley.

Daley Blind was an unused substitute as Manchester United beat Tottenham 1-0. Memphis Depay was left out of United’s squad while Vincent Janssen was injured for Spurs.

Virgil van Dijk was once again imperious in Southampton’s defence as they recorded a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough. The defender made nine clearances, four interceptions and ended the game with an 86% pass success rate. Jordy Clasie was also impressive for the Saints, while Marten de Roon failed to make an impact for Boro.

Georginio Wijnaldum struggled to make much of an impact as Liverpool drew 2-2 with West Ham on Sunday. The midfielder took four shots but failed to get one on target,

Spanish La Liga

Ryan Babel was substituted in the 83rd minute as Deportivo la Coruna nearly caused a shock against Real Madrid. Deportivo led 2-1 until the 84th minute then conceded twice to lose 3-2.

Ryan Donk kept a clean sheet in the heart of Real Betis defence as they beat Athletic Bilbao 1-0 on Sunday evening.

Jasper Cillessen was an unused substitute in Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Osasuna.

Portuguese Primeira Liga

Bas Dost netted for Sporting Lisbon but couldn’t prevent his side from losing 2-1 at bitter rivals Benfica. Marvin Zeegelaar also played the full game fo Sporting.

French Ligue 1

Karim Rekik was an unused substitute as Marseille beat Dijon 2-1.

Turkish Super Lig

Dick Advocaat’s Fenerbahce were defeated 1-0 by Antalyaspor on Monday. Jeremain Lens was the only Dutchman to feature in the game, but was substituted 15 minutes from time after failing to have an impact.

Wesley Sneijder and Nigel de Jong both played the full ninety minutes as Jan Olde Riekerink’s Galatasaray saw off Gaziantepspor 3-1.

Adam Maher came off the bench on 83 minutes and made a huge impact by assisting the winning goal in Osmanlispor’s 2-1 win over Akhisar Belediyespor.

English Championship

Vurnon Anita played the full match as Newcastle United hammered Birmingham City 4-0 on Saturday. Maikel Kieftenbeld appeared from the bench in the second half for the Blues.

Roy Beerens was the hero for Reading with two goals in their 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday. Joey van den Berg also featured for Jaap Stam’s side.

Yanick Wildschut played 90 minutes of Wigan’s 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa but barely troubled the home side’s defence.

Tjarron Chery had a poor game and was substituted just before the end of QPR’s 1-0 defeat at Rotherham.

Rajiv van la Parra played 83 minutes of Huddersfield Town’s 2-1 win over Bristol City before being substituted.

Marvin Emnes came off the bench in the second half but couldn’t prevent Blackburn Rovers losing 3-2 at Preston.

Swiss Super League

Jean-Paul Boetius was an unused substitute as Basel beat St Gallen 1-0 on Saturday evening.
