davids baThe ex-Netherlands international took charge of Barnet as player coach in 2012, but could not prevent the club fro being relegated to the conference.

This season, Davids had appeared nine times for the club, but was sent off three times, and threatened to retire from playing after a red in the 2-1 loss to Salisbury.

Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Chester leaves Barnet 10th in the table, and was followed by a statement on the clubs official website stating Davids had left the club.

The statement read, “Everybody associated with the club would like to thank Edgar for his contribution during his time here and for his help in putting together the current team structure. The club would also like to wish Edgar the very best of luck in what we have no doubt will be the continuation of an illustrious career.”

It remains to be seen what will be the next move for the ex-Juventus, and Ajax star, but rumours of a move to AC Milan to be a part of Clarence Seedorf’s backroom staff will be inevitable.
