Reports in the Dutch media suggested that one of the reasons Bosz had decided to leave Ajax was due to behind the scenes disagreements with some of the technical staff, including Dennis Bergkamp, who felt left out by Bosz.
Van der Sar seemed to confirm these rumours when he spoke to NOS after Bosz was unveiled as the new head coach of Borussia Dortmund.
Van der Sar said,”We are disappointed. You do not want to lose your manager after only one season and that has happened ”.
”We wanted to keep Peter Bosz here at Ajax but he did not want to continue in the current climate.
”There were insights in terms of the interpretation of the technical staff. I do not want to go into massive detail. We wanted to continue with Peter Bosz but not at the expense of everything.
”Since the Cruyff revolution in 2011 here at Ajax in a technical sense behind the scenes we have chosen to work towards a long-term goal and that stance remains the same.”
