Round up of all the action from matchday four of the Eerste Divisie.

vvv psVVV Venlo 1-2 Jong PSV

VVV Venlo have had their 100% record in the league so far ended by Jong PSV. Ex-PSV midfielder Clint Leemans gave the home side the lead but Sam Lammers equalised with a header just before the break. Early in the second half, Ralf Seuntjens missed a penalty before Leemans was shown his second yellow card to reduce VVV to ten men. Jong PSV took advantage of the extra man as Jordy de Wijs smashed a free kick into the net off the underside of the bar to hand the Eindhoven side an unlikely win. Jong PSV now move joint top with Volendam and Jong Ajax.

Dordrecht 1-2 NAC

NAC put their shock defeat to MVV on Friday behind them by returning to winning ways against Dordrecht. Cyriel Dessers opened the scoring for NAC in the first half before Ricky van Haren equalised on 54 minutes. Dordrecht were only level for four minutes before Gino Demon restored NAC’s lead and handed them all three points.

Cambuur 1-1 De Graafschap

An Eredivisie tie from last season, Cambuur and De Graafschap had to settle for a point apiece after a draw in Leeuwarden. Jergé Hoefdraad put the home side ahead but Piotr Parzyszek headed De Graafschap level. The game ended 1-1 but not before De Graafschap handed a debut to Koen Huntelaar, the nephew of Klaas-Jan.

Jong Ajax 2-1 Fortuna Sittard

Jong Ajax are the leaders of the Eerste Divisie after they earned their third win of the season against Fortuna Sittard. Abdelhak Nouri finished off an excellent team move to put his side ahead before Pelle Clement made it 2-0 early in the second half. Luc Mares pulled one back for Fortuna Sittard but Ajax held on despite El Idrissi seeing red in injury time.

Den Bosch 2-5  Volendam

Volendam moved joint top of the table after hammering Den Bosch. Doubles from Gyliano van Velzen and Rihario Meulens, along with a Jack Tuijp goal handed Volendam a comfortable victory. Jonas Heymans and Romero Regales netted consolations for the home side.

FC Eindhoven 2-1 Achilles 29

FC Eindhoven earned their second win of the season after seeing off Achilles 29. An own goal from Mischa Boelens put the home side ahead before Mart Lieder made it 2-0 on 66 minutes. Thijs Hendriks pulled one back from the penalty spot, but Eindhoven held on for the three points.

Telstar 4-2 Helmond Sport

Telstar have their first win of the season after an entertaining victory over Helmond Sport. Crescendo van Berkel, Oussama Zamouri and Fabian Serrarens put the home side into a commanding lead at half time, but two penalties from Jordy Thomassen gave Helmond Sport hope for a comeback. That hope was finally extinguished with three minutes left by Mohamed Ajnane.

Jong Utrecht 1-3 RKC

Jong Utrecht’s search for the first win in professional football goes on after they were defeated by RKC Waalwijk. Johan Voskamp netted a double to put RKC in control before Nacer Barazite gave the hosts hope early in the second half. However, Moussa Sanoh netted a third for RKC to seal the win and move them up to tenth, while Jong Utrecht stay rock bottom.

Emmen 2-0 Almere City

Emmen are into the top eight after a 2-0 win over Almere City, who continued their poor start to the campaign. Cas Peters and Rogier Khrone scored the goals for the home side.

MVV 3-0  Oss

MVV followed up their win over NAC with a resounding win over FC Oss. Goals from Thomas Verheijdt, Jordy Croux and Duon Gijzen sealed the victory, which moved MVV into the top seven.
