Review of all the action from week 16 of the Eerste Divisie with the division’s top two clashing.

eerste 3Dordrecht re-established a four point gap at the top of Eerste Divisie after they won the big game with second placed Sparta Rotterdam at the weekend. A large crowd turned up at The Castle to see if Sparta could wrestle top spot from the visitors but it was Dordrecht who were quickest out of the blocks & they raced in to a 3-0 half time lead. Former Sparta man Paul Gladon opened the scoring with a fine finish from the edge of the box, Rihairo Meulens scrambled in a second before Erixson Danso added a third with the goal of the game. Danso hit the bar early in the second half before Johan Voskamp & Mario Bilate pulled the hosts back into the game but Dordrecht held on & were left singing in the rain with their small contingent of travelling fans.

FC Eindhoven are just one point behind Sparta after they beat Achilles 29 3-1 at the Jan Louwers Stadion with De Graafschap & Willem II both two points behind FCE after wins at the weekend. De Graafschap condemned Ajax Jung to a seventh straight defeat after Anco Jansen & Piotr Parzyszek scored in a 2-1 win, the Pole notching his 14th goal in 15 starts.
