eerste asdTilburg based side Willem II were this weekend’s big winner after they secured a 2-1 away win at Twente Jong in front of just 450 fans thanks to a double from Ruud Boymans who takes his tally to 19 for the season & shoots his side just one point from top spot two weeks after missing out on the period three championship. Leaders Dordrecht have now won just once in their last five outings after they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to in form Fortuna Sittard & with Willem II hosting lowly Oss next week they could well lose top spot for the first time this season.

Excelsior Rotterdam continued their fine form under new Coach Martinus Dijkhuizen as they recorded a fourth straight win to go third with a comfortable 3-0 win over lowly Achilles 29, Eerste Divisie top scorer Lars Veldwijk continued his fine scoring form with his 21st goal of the season. Possibly the result of the day was Oss 4-0 win over high flying Eindhoven, the visitors who had beaten top of the table Dordrecht last week had no answer to a rampant Oss side who now put three points between themselves & bottom side Achilles & are only four points behind Almere City after they were easily beaten by a now four unbeaten PSV Jong side.

VVV Venlo have now lost three out of their last four games & slip to fourth after losing 3-1 at Telstar who win back to back games for the first time since August, Sparta Rotterdam are another side in a poor run of form & it looked to be getting worse as they were heading for a sixth loss in seven games under new Coach Gert Kruys, trailing 1-0 at Helmond Sport & down to ten men they grabbed a late point thanks to a Mahi leveller ending a run of three losses in a row. MVV Maastricht recent upturn in form shows no sign of slowing down after Danny Schreurs grabbed the only goal at a De Graafschap side who are in turmoil on & off the pitch. Den Bosch have been in good form after recent weeks but they were beaten 3-2 at Ajax Jong who are now four unbeaten but for Den Bosch the fact they have recently avoided bankruptcy will give them a huge boost & Emmen hit four goals for the third in their last four home games as they saw Volendam off by four goals to one, Roland Bergkamp hit a brace & the ex Brighton man now has eleven for the season.
