oss 8A Crazy five minute spell at the end of Monday night’s PSV Jong v Willem II game cost the Tilburg based side top spot as they threw away a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 against the in form Eindhoven side. Ruud Boymans & Ondaan had given Willem II a comfortable lead but the late rearguard collapse means Dordrecht regain top spot after a one week absence. Dordrecht were victors on Friday night in a tough game at VVV Venlo but they ended up comfortable 2-0 winners against a VVV side reduced to ten men late on.

The most remarkable scoreline of the weekend was at Oss where the home side slammed eight goals past a hapless Emmen, Oss had shown recent signs of improvement when they beat Eindhoven 4-0 in their last home game & narrowly lost a Willem II last week but no one could have predicted a 8-0 result. Excelsior were beaten for the first time in six games as they lost 1-0 at home to MVV Maastricht who stretched their unbeaten run to seven games, six of those seven games have ended in victory. De Graafschap move into fifth place after ending Telstar’s three game winning run with a 2-0 victory & FC Eindhoven continue their poor run of form & have now lost six of their last seven games this time at Twente Jong who secure back to back 1-0 wins.

Achilles remain at the foot of the table after defeat at Ajax Jong despite leading & they have now won just one of their last 20 games in their first season at this level, Sparta Rotterdam lunge from bad to worse as they are beaten 1-0 at home for the second week running, last week it was out of form Twente Jong celebrating at the Castle & this week it was the turn of Almere who arrived on the back of four straight losses but left triumphant.

Fortuna Sittard are now seven unbeaten after a hard fought 1-1 draw at Helmond Sport & two of Eerste Divisie’s most inconsistent sides met as Volendam welcomed Den Bosch & it was the visitors that ended the game the happier side as they won 2-0 ended a two game losing run whist Volendam are now five without a win.
