The Dutch cabinet announced last week that no fans would be allowed to attend games for three weeks as the Netherlands entered another lockdown to battle rising covid cases.
The KNVB and Eredivisie were both disappointed with the cabinet’s decision and there was a discussion around postponing the games until the lockdown was lifted. However, the KNVB have now confirmed that the games this weekend will go ahead as normal.
The players, trainers, captains, municipalities, police, and broadcaster ESPN think that postponement is practically unfeasible and impracticable.
