ADO Den Haag took a major step towards safety after a 2-0 win over Utrecht in the Kyocera Stadion.

The game was a tepid and dull affair until the 71st minute when Utrecht’s Willem Janssen was penalised for a handball in the box, and Roland Alberg made no mistake from the spot to put the home side ahead.
Alberg then turned provider as his excellent ball found Gervane Kastaneer in the box, and the forward’s scruffy finish went through Robbin Ruiter’s legs and into the net to seal the win for ADO Den Haag.
The win sees ADO Den Haag leapfrog Utrecht into 12th, but both sides now seem to be heading for a comfortable place in mid-table. Utrecht in 13th are six points above the bottom three.
