After several months as a free agent and advertising himself on Linked In, former Ajax and Anderlecht midfielder Demy De Zeeuw signed a short term contract with NAC Breda until the end of the season. Robert Maaskant handed De Zeeuw his debut against ADO Den Haag and he immediately repaid NAC’s faith by opening the scoring on 10 minutes when he found the bottom corner with a prodded finish from Adnane Tighadouini’s cross.
Michiel Kramer raced to the top of the scoring charts before the winter break, but since the action restarted in January the striker had failed to net. That run ended on Saturday with the tall forward racing through on goal after 56 minutes before chipping the ball over Jelle ten Rouwelaar and leveling the scores.
De Zeeuw restored NAC Breda’s lead three minutes later with a low shot into the bottom corner from outside the box. However NAC failed to hold onto their lead again as Rouwelaar failed to hold onto a shot on 76 minutes and Xander Houtkoop slotted in from close range.
With four minutes to go Kramer stooped to head Aaron Meijers cross past Rouwelaar to seal the three points for the home side. The win lifts ADO Den Haag up to 13th while NAC Breda remain 2nd bottom.
