A 90th minute goal from Markus Henriksen handed AZ Alkmaar a late 2-1 win over Cambuur at the AFAS Stadion on Saturday evening.

gudelj azAZ Alkmaar surrendered third place to Feyenoord last week and boss John van den Brom was quick to express the importance of a win against Cambuur to his side, as they hope to automatically qualify for the Europa League.

After only eleven minutes Nemanja Gudelj gave the home side the lead from the penalty spot after being adjudged to have to been fouled inside the box, although replays suggest the initial contact may have taken place outside.

AZ missed several chances to extend their lead and they were eventually punished on 62 minutes when Bartholomew Ogbeche equalised for the visitors, but Markus Henriksen popped up in injury time to seal all three points for the hosts.

AZ now sit one point behind third placed Feyenoord, while Cambuur are tenth.
